It was so great seeing everyone! It was a bitter sweet day... Christmas was my grandma's favorite holiday. And now that she's not with us, it's always sad celebrating without her. Christmas will always be filled with lots of wonderful memories of her and everything she did to make each and every Christmas so special for all her family! She was an amazing grandmother and will always be missed!

We love you guys and wish we were able to see everyone more! :) Thanks for all the wonderful gifts!

Chris and I decided to get the kids a special surprise this Christmas......

A PUPPY!!

I'm sure our families think we're crazy, and maybe we are. But we thought this was a good time to add a pet to the family. The kids are young, but not so young that they need my attention 24/7. Having a puppy is just like having a new baby.At least I don't have to change more diapers, but house training her is a full time job. :)

She's a Boston Terrier. Her mom and dad were both 15 lbs. so she shouldn't get much bigger than that.

We named her Lily.

Allie loves her, but mothers her to death! :( Poor Lily!

Adam loves Lily too. Not sure how much Lily is liking all the attention she gets from the kids.

We are crate training Lily. The first night was kinda hard, she woke up every hour whining. By four a.m. I decided I would just sleep the rest of the night on the floor with her. The next night was much easier.... so far, so good! :)

This year we celebrated Thanksgiving with Linda's family. Her family lives about an hour East of Cleveland, only a two hour drive from our house. :) It was a fabulous holiday - a good time was had by all! Breakfast down at Grandma D's.

Back in November Megan and Sarah came out to stay a weekend with us. We had our Marine Corps Ball and needed a babysitter for the kids. Unfortunately, I didn't get many pics of us at the ball, plus they are on Megan's camera... still need to get those from you, Megan! :)

Last Monday Gail and Joey came up from VA for a four day visit. We met the Roberts when we lived in NC - Earl and Chris worked in the same battalion. We have really missed our North Carolina friends... we've missed all the fun play dates, all our trips to the beach and pool, going to the mall, eating out together, and the list goes on and on! Wish we were all still living in the same town! :[

The kids and I took a day trip down to Maryland a few weeks ago to visit with my G-dad. We haven't seen him and quite some time so it was good visiting and catching up. Mom also came and then that night we went back up to PA. We got to stop on our way back to PA to watch Annah play a volley ball game (didn't get any pics). We spent the night at mom's and then got to spend the next day with Lizzy for her birthday! :) It was a fast trip, but good seeing everyone!
At G-dads house he fixed us a yummy lunch with all our favorite things! :) Thanks granddad! Thanks also for the bike, money for the kids and the Christmas stuff! We love ya and hope to see you over the holidays!

A few weeks back, Joe, Megan and Sarah came out for a weekend visit. Adam and Allie LOVE all their Aunts and Uncles, so getting to spend a few days with them made their whole week! Ours too! Joe as been doing a job in Pittsburgh, so we actually went and picked him up Friday morning from his job site. Megan and Sarah had to work on Friday so they came out Saturday morning. Breakfast Saturday morning.

A few weeks ago, I went with Allie on her school's fall field trip. We went to a local pumpkin farm were we got to pick our own pumpkins, Indian corn, go for a hay ride and enjoy the beautiful outdoor weather. Allie loved the bus ride to and from the pumpkin farm. :)

Adam 2nd birthday was on October second. He was sick that whole week and I ended up taking him to the Dr's on his b-day. He had a really bad cough, and is still getting over it. Boy guy, he really wasn't feeling so well, but you wouldn't know if from some of these pics. He looks happy and healthy! :) Eating breakfast.

Chris and I decided to put Allie in preschool this year. It's only three days a week for three hours. She started last week, but already missed a few days since the kids spent the weekend with the Yoders. But... so far, so good. She already has her little friends and loves all the "learning" parts of school. Her teachers gave her some papers last week to bring home since she was going to miss Friday and Monday. I told her it was her "homework" and she thought that was the coolest thing ever. Let's hope she continues to think that once she has real homework to do! :) 1st day of school!

Camping and family wedding!

Two weekends ago we went camping with some of my family. We went out to Camp Blue Diamond - the all time favorite camp ground for our families. CBD holds lots of wonderful memories from our younger years. Liz, Joe and I use to go every year with the Yoder's, and on one of those Summer camping trips, Chris and I got engaged. It's a great family place and we hope our kids can make some wonderful memories in the years to come! On our way. I packed so much "stuff" for this camping trip - it took a week to pack and another week to unpack! :) Not really, but that's what it felt like! :)

Saturday we had a family wedding in Altoona. So we got up nice and early (like we did every morning because the kids didn't sleep in) and headed out for the wedding. It was fun getting ready in our tent and a bathhouse! :)

A few Fridays ago, we took the kids to the Washington county fair. Chris got home early that day so we had all evening to check out the sights! There was so much to see and do. The kids LOVED all the animals and there was even a petting zoo. There was lots of yummy food, rides, a mini circus, more food and then more rides! What a fun way to spend a Friday evening with the family! Checking out the horses,

A few weekends ago we went to Chris' parents for a little family get together. Some of Linda's family came in from Ohio - so it was a FULL house! 25 of us - 11 kids and 14 adults. It was such a fun weekend, with lots of yummy food, games, swimming, tubing, a slide show in the back yard and a camp fire to roast marshmallows on every night!! I know our kids had a blast. We didn't see Allie all weekend- she was too busy having fun with all the cousins! A big thank you to the Yoders for hosting such a fun weekend!Bill giving all the kids and Pete a hayride.

Since there were so many of us, a few of the families slept outside in tents. Allie and Adam loved it - it was our 1st time "camping" as a family.

On our way home we stopped at my parents to have lunch and for Chris to meet Ashleigh's Steve. Steve and Ashleigh got engaged in July - getting married next August. Everyone in the family had met Steve but Chris - Ashleigh was saving the best of last! :) Right, Ash?!

Anniversary Weekend!

Our Anniversary was yesterday - 7 years! Wow, how time flies!! We celebrated over the weekend and did something as a family (we didn't have a babysitter anyway). Sundays are family day at the Pirates stadium in Pittsburgh, so we decided to try out a baseball game with the kids. :) The PNC stadium.

Adam with all his boo-boo's! He ran into the counter top the other day and just missed his eye. As you can see, the counter hit him right above and below his right eye. He always is falling and seems to always have some kind of mark on his face!

We got to the stadium early, so all in all the kids sat for 4 hours!!! ;-{

We did a family picture in one of those photo booths before the game. Our picture ended up on the jumbo tron during the game. Wish I had gotten a picture of our picture!! :)

Allie did very well during the game and enjoyed participating with the yelling, cheering and clapping! :) She loved that we got to sing "Take me out to the ball game!" But by the 7th inning the she was hot and tired and informed us that she needed shade, that she was going to melt! :)

Family Day with all the Marines!!

Last Friday we met Chris at work and then headed over to a local park for a (work) family day. Besides our family, there is only 3 (or 4) other guys that even have families. Chris only works with a small group of Marines and most fo them are single. It was nice meeting other MC families, but unfortunately they all live in WV or Ohio.

It rained all that morning and everything was nice and wet. Adam put himself in charge of going down all the slides to dry them off. By the time we left he was in his third outfit. But he didn't care... he was happy even though his pants were dripping wet!

Allie lovin on someones dog. She thinks we should have a pet or two. Maybe one day, when they are older and can help out a little. :)

Swimming Lessons!

Allie's been taking swimming lessons this week and last. I felt so bad for her last week, she wasn't feeling well and didn't even want to stay in the water. I should have known she was sick, she loves the water and doesn't usually complain even if she is cold. 1st day of lessons, waiting on her instructors.

"Wow, that's a big pool!"

"Oh, it's sooo cold!" The morning of her 1st lesson it was like 45 degrees out. Even though her lesson was late morning, I'm sure that water was still really cold!!!!

Tomorrow is our last day of lessons. I'll have to take the camera today and get a few of her sliding down the big slide. She's one of the only little girls that will go down... way to go Allie!! :)

Juice Sale!

Allie and a few of the neighborhood girls had a "juice sale" the other week. They did really well, selling almost $20 worth of juice. The reason they did juice and not lemonade, was a few of the other girls in the neighborhood were doing lemonade, but didn't want the younger girls helping them out. They all had fun, and there was even some friendly competition going on! :)

We spent the 4th of July weekend with Chris' family. It was such a relaxing weekend, just what we needed. :) On the 4th Bill took all us tubing down Shermans Creek. It was lots of fun, even Adam and Allie enjoyed the two hour tubing ride.

While home visiting the family, Mom, Liz and I drove to Maryland to visit with g-dad K. Erin also drove up from NC that day, so we all met at granddads and spent the day with him. My grandparents have lived in the same house for years, (the same house my mom and Uncle grew up in) so going back to Maryland and their house has so many great memories!

The kids and I just got back from spending 12 days with my family. Chris was away on his summer drill with his Marines, so we headed East to pass the time with family. While we were at mom and dad's, Erin and her kids came up to visit too. So the house was very FULL, but what great memories. I was so tired by the time we got home, not use to staying up that late every night. Ashleigh was home for the summer and we even got to meet her boyfriend, Steve. They have been dating for over a year now, but every time he was up for a holiday we weren't. Enjoy the pics! Ash and Steve on our way to McDonald's for Aiden's birthday lunch.

Pittsburgh Zoo!

We took the kids to the Pittsburgh Zoo a few weeks back. It was for Allie's birthday, since Chris had to work on her actual birthday. :) Pittsburgh is only 30 miles from our home, but on that Saturday, we ran in to some traffic and a trip that should only take one hour took over two. :( On our way....
